Abstract

Algorithms are increasingly prominent in the modern economy, and are in turn enriched in their scopes and perspectives through their integration with economics. This talk gives a brief introduction to ways in which algorithms and economics interact in theory and practice. These include mechanism design and the spectrum (reverse) auctions, Nash equilibria and computational complexity, online matching and ads auctions, among other topics.
