Science and Art are the two most important landmarks of the human civilization. They represent the human exploration of the natural world (including human self) at the highest level. Since the ancient times, science is to uncover truth and art is to seek beauty. But what is truth? and what is beauty? Why should they come to unify? The leading post-impressionist Paul Gauguin asked in his immortal painting (1897): Where are we from? Who are we? Where are we going? We scientists are also trying to explore exactly the same ultimate questions over the lifetime! --- How does our Universe originate and evolve so far? What is the future of our Universe? When did the time start? Why does time have an arrow? and how is space formed? Are there extra spatial dimensions beyond the three-dimensional space which we live in? Do the space and time originate from a singularity of the Big Bang? How do the 4 fundamental forces in nature connect to each other? How would they come to unify?
