Abstract
As an important technology with a promise to solve future energy problems, magnetic confinement fusion (MCF) has made remarkable progress both domestically and abroad in recent years. MCF research involves many disciplines such as physics, mathematics, material science, electrical engineering, nuclear engineering, etc. New technologies such as high-temperature superconductivity and artificial intelligence are expected to bring about breakthroughs in the field of MCF. Major countries around the world have adjusted their fusion energy development policies. Commercial and venture capital have accelerated to invest in fusion energy startups. A competitive situation has emerged among China, the U.S., Europe, and Japan, etc. This report will introduce the current status and future development trend of MCF.
