I’m Xia Yuhao from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. It’s really an honor to give a speech here and share all my experiences in this great summer school. Thanks SJTU for offering such great opportunity letting all these great physics guys getting together and discussing the most mysterious and marvelous subject that ever being created by humanity.
These days, we talked a lot about physic, from Astronomy to QF theory, as the title there, from “The Largest to the Smallest”.As physic is the main topic during the summer school, obviously it won’t be my topic today. Today I want to talk about the people here, whom I believe are the most treasurable part of the summer school.
The first group of people I really want to talk about is the professors. Prof. A. Zee, who impressed me the most in these ten days, he provided us a vivid picture about the basic thought in QFT. But I think the most valuable thing I learned from him is that he told me to stop and think, as president Xi said, “Have we forgotten our first thought?”. Prof. Zee once said in his lecture, and I quote, “You Chinese students know ten times more than me”, but do we really learned? After his lecture I really started to think about it, from some time-point that already lost in my memory, I’m getting used to asking for answers, rather than find ways to get it. I’m getting used to being buried under all the mathematics, rather than think about the simplest and the most loveable picture of physics itself. The most pathetic thing is, the things that being throw away, are exactly the reason I chose Physics as my life career. So for me, it’s really a fortune to meet such a master here, who can give me the confidence to regain all the beautiful things. And there’re so many great faculties I met in the summer school, like Prof. Jinbo Peng, who invited us to visit his lab, and introduced his program so detailed, and Prof. Qingdong Jiang, who I believed rescued me from the “Old fashioned Chinese marriage” worry. Forgive me that there’s no time to tell all the excellent experience they gave me in such a short time. Thanks you all for all the insightful thoughts and juicy talks that you offered, which showed me the extraordinary atmosphere here in TDLI and SJTU, with all my appreciate.
And now comes for you, all my dearest classmate here. In these days, we seemed to establish a great friendship in an incredible speed. We work on the presentation together, hang out and visit this magic city together…All these great experience connected us gradually, making us real “growth partner”.
In the end, I’d like to give you all with my best wishes. Hoping we can work together for the development of physic, no matter which country we are in, no matter which field we work at. Thank you for listening!
